The Great Hall of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn - London, England.
The English Inns of Court offer some of the most stunning settings in the capital. Lincoln’s Inn, widely thought to be the most prestigious, is a huge complex of buildings – some 16th century – in the very heart of the city. The 19th century Great Hall, Library entrance and Benchers’ Rooms presented both the challenge of scale – the hall being almost forty metres long, complete with lofty beamed ceiling – and of colour, as the panelled walls and numerous portraits and coats of arms create an already rich colour scheme.
Over six thousand flowers were included in table and entrance decorations, and in the several three-meter tall arrangements created to match the scale of the venue. The Hall– once ready for dinner and performances by José Carreras and Diva Opera company – looked resplendent. For those people present who knew the venue as a veritable home from home, the greatest compliment came in the after-dinner speeches when, referring to the floral arrangements, it was described as “The Great Hall as none of us has ever seen it before”.
